Shamshad Ahmed, Chairman
Ambassador Shamshad Ahmed is a veteran Pakistani diplomat, international relations expert and an author who served as the Foreign Secretary of Pakistan from 1997 to 2000 and as the Permanent Representative of Pakistan to the United Nations between 2000 till 2002. He also served as Pakistan’s ambassador to South Korea and Iran. He currently writes a weekly column for English daily The News. Before that he was a regular contributor to The Nation. He also writes occasionally for Dawn and The Express Tribune. He is the author of books including Dreams Unfulfilled and Pakistan and World Affairs.
Mr. Khurram Javaid is the CEO/Director of Mughal Steel, a leading and trendsetting company in Pakistan’s iron and steel industry. He holds an MBA from the Coventry University, UK and a BSc. from the Lahore School of Economics in Pakistan. Mr. Javaid has made substantial contributions to Mughal Steel’s production capabilities and sales network within the country, ensuring that each is at par with the international standards of the steel industry. He has extensive experience with highly engineered systems, which require a deep understanding of critical business drivers in multiple markets and industries; highly successful in building relationships with upper-level decision makers, seizing control of critical problem areas, and delivering on customer commitments. In addition, as a strong advocate of human resource development, he has been the key figure behind the incorporation of effective HR planning, policy-making and training which is the cornerstone of Mughal Steel’s success today.
Mr. Zahid Anjum is a senior banker and the designated Honorary Consul of the Republic of Kosovo in Pakistan. Mr. Anjum is a well qualified individual and has done MBA, M.A. (Political Sciences) & LLB. Mr. Anjum has attended numerous local and international courses and seminars. He has over 20 years experience in the areas of banking, finance & legal.
Ms. Fiza Farhan, is a young entrepreneur, featured in the US Magazine Forbes 30 Under 30 List of Social Entrepreneurs for 2015 and again in Forbes Asia List of 30 Under 30 Social Entrepreneurs in 2016. She represents Pakistan on the United Nation’s Secretary General’s first ever High Level Panel on Women Economic Empowerment along with global leadership in addition to advising the Government of Punjab, as Chairperson to Chief Minister Punjab’s Task Force on Women Empowerment. Previously, Fiza was the CEO of Buksh Foundation and Director of Buksh Energy Private Limited. Currently Fiza is advising the Benzair Income Support Program (BISP) as a Senior Gender and Women Specialist along with advising development institutions like UNDP towards adaptation of SDGs in the Private Sector & World Bank as a Country Gender Specialist.
With a wide array of international experience, Ms. Amena Cheema has worked with the United Nations, first as an Advisor to the President of the United Nations General Assembly, then as a Special Advisor to the Ambassador of Saudi Arabia to the United Nations. She has more than 16 years of work experience in areas of policy analysis, mediation and intergovernmental negotiations. She has a vast knowledge of contemporary policy formulation practices and international financial trends. In addition, she possesses exceptional negotiation, interpersonal, analytical and problem solving skills.
Mr. Shoaeb Shams is a serial entrepreneur. He is the founder and CEO of E2E Solution Providers, a technology services provider, which now has offices in Rotterdam, Netherlands and San Francisco, USA. He has also founded Fashion Central Pvt Ltd, which is not only an online media house with emphasis on Fashion & Lifestyle but also has brick & mortar multi brand stores as well as multiple online e-commerce destinations. Mr. Shoaeb Shams has a unique ability to transform an idea into reality. His global interactions allow him insights into the international perspectives and how they translate into our national interests.
Mr. Hashim Raza is the current CEO of SchoolSpire, a corporate firm based in the US. He is also the former CEO of Cinepax, Pakistan’s first significant national cineplex company, and an ex-banker with JP Morgan Chase in New York and Deutsche Bank in New York. Mr Hashim Raza holds a Master’s degree in Marketing from New York University as well as an MBA in Strategy and Global Management from the Korea Development Institute School of Public Policy and Management in Seoul, South Korea. Mr Hashim Raza has done his PhD coursework in Strategy at New York University and Columbia University. Possessing superb communication skills, he has a unique ability to influence policy-makers at both the domestic and international levels.
